The team from Madrid, Spain, has strengthened its ranks with two Brazilian football players. A contract has been signed with defender Fabiano Eller from the Turkish team "Trabzonspor" until 2009, and with forward Diego da Silva, on loan to the Portuguese club "Braga," the contract is signed until the summer of 2010.
29-year-old Fabiano Eller, who played in one match for the Brazilian national team, started his career in his homeland playing for teams like "Flamengo," "Palmeiras," "Vasco da Gama," and "Fluminense." He moved to "Trabzonspor" in 2005. F. Eller helped his country's team "Internacional" win the South American club championship in 2006 and contributed to the triumph in the Club World Cup against "Barcelona."
Meanwhile, 18-year-old Diego da Silva, who was on loan back to Braga until the end of this season, where he can gain more playing experience, spent the first part of the season in the second division team "Penafiel," showing promise for the future.
"Diego is a player with a very bright future. By calling him, we hope that in the near future he will be very useful to us," said Atletico's sports director Jesus Garcia Pitarch.
Atletico is currently performing successfully in the Spanish league and currently holds 5th place.
