Good news for Lithuanian national team and Edinburgh supporters - goalkeeper Deividas Česnauskas will not need surgery and can return to the lineup within three weeks, while forward Edgaras Jankauskas is recovering from a tendon injury and has a chance to play this weekend.
The 25-year-old, who last played for "Hearts" two and a half months ago, initially visited an English doctor but later decided to consult with specialists in Germany. According to Edinburgh club coach Valdas Ivanauskas, the player will not require ankle surgery and should be back to full training in three weeks.
"Deividas was in Germany, but everything is fine - no surgery needed. I hope that after three weeks he will be back to full training. He hasn't played for a long time, so we would like him to regain his fitness as soon as possible," Ivanauskas told the Scottish press.
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old, who has missed almost the entire beginning of the season due to injuries, is slowly recovering from a tendon injury and may be included in the Scottish team for the important match against "Rangers" this Saturday.
However, Ivanauskas cautiously assessed Jankauskas' chances: "Edgaras is feeling much better. Maybe he has a chance to be in the squad, but it's very difficult to say if he will be able to play."
As previously announced, another Lithuanian player Nerijus Barasa will not play for at least a month. As usual, Lithuanian legionnaires Marius Žaliūkas, Saulius Mikoliūnas, and Andrius Velička are expected to play against "Rangers", while goalkeepers Eduardas Kurskis and Arnas Lekevičius, as well as former "Kaunas" striker Arkadiušas Klimekas, are not in the main squad.
