Dramblio Kaulo Kranto national team defender Kanga Akale led the Osero club forward in the 33rd minute. Just three minutes later, the young Dane Thomas Kahlenberg solidified Auxerre's lead. After this victory, "Auxerre" surpassed "Nancy" in the standings and moved up from 14th place to 12th.

In the other Sunday matches, the teams "Lens" and "Saint-Etienne" competed for positions in the top three. With a win at home, the Lano players could move up to second place in the standings, but in the 15th minute, young "Saint-Etienne" forward Batefimi Gomis put the away team ahead. "Lens" continued to struggle, and after another goal, just ten minutes later, the advantage for "Saint-Etienne" doubled by Czech forward Marek Heinz. The same Heinz finished off the first half by sending the home team into a tough situation, scoring his team's third goal.

In the second half, after about 20 minutes of play, "Lens" managed to soften the result - in the 66th minute, Seydou Keita scored. It seemed like that was all the Lano club could achieve in this match, but in the 89th minute, Malian Adama Coulibaly sent another ball into the "Saint-Etienne" net, reviving the intrigue. Just two minutes later, all the Lens fans gathered in the stadium rose to their feet - Seydou Keita with a precise shot once again defeated the opponent's goalkeeper and equalized the score.

During the following attacks, "Saint-Etienne" also had a chance to score, but Brazilian striker Ilan shot a bit too powerful from a comfortable position and the ball flew over the goal. The match ended in a 3-3 draw.
