Together with Bremen's "Werder", the Gelsenkirchen team, currently leading the Bundesliga standings, defender Christian Pander suffered an injury and will be out of action for about two months.
The 23-year-old German got injured during training before the weekend's German championship match against Frankfurt's "Eintracht". After more detailed examinations following the match, it was revealed that the player had damaged tendons and would not be able to play for six to eight weeks.
These are very bad news for both the "Schalke" team and the player himself, as he had just recovered from a serious injury less than two months ago, preventing him from playing for 19 months.
However, the Gelsenkirchen team's fans were also reached by slightly better news - it seems that the injury has already healed and the team's forward from Denmark, Soren Larsen, is ready to return to the field. The player is already training with the team and should be back on the pitch in the next Bundesliga matches.
