The leaders of the French championship have signed a contract with another Brazilian footballer, Fabio Santos, who has previously played for the Brazilian "Cruzeiro" club.
F.Santos is the fifth Brazilian in this French team. In Lyon, defenders Claudio Cacapa and Cris, midfielder Juninho, and forward Fred already play.
The 26-year-old defensive midfielder will try his luck in Europe for the second time. In the 2004-2005 season, he played for Madeira's "Nacional."
However, F.Santos did not fit in Portugal, played only 6 matches per season, and returned to his homeland, to the "Cruzeiro" team, which he has represented 33 times so far.
The financial details of the agreement between "Lyon" and "Cruzeiro" are not disclosed.
Fabio Santos should debut in the "Lyon" ranks on Wednesday in the French Cup match against "Marseille" since Alou Diarra is injured, Jeremy Toulalan is suspended, and Tiago is in poor form, so the Brazilian should take the field in the defensive midfielder position.
