After the end of the season, former "Parma" club coach, Cesare Prandelli, agreed to take over as the coach of AS "Roma". He replaced Fabio Capello, who left for "Juventus" yesterday.
Club sports director Franco Baldini confirmed the news yesterday: "We have just finished negotiations. We discussed all team plans and then agreed on the financial terms of the contract."
Prandelli signed a three-year contract with a rising salary: in the first season he will receive 1.5 million euros, and in the second and third seasons the salary will increase by 300 thousand euros each.
The coach has already proven that he is able to lead a team with financial problems well. Despite selling his best players - Adriano and Adrian Mutu, "Parma" managed to secure a high 5th place in the Italian championship. Prandelli made his debut in Serie A in 1993 as the head coach of "Atalanta". He then coached "Lecce", "Verona", "Venezia" and "Parma" clubs.
Now it is being reported in the press that young talents from "Parma" - and , may also move to "Roma" with the coach. They have previously been associated with the capital club, and now, with the opportunity to participate in the Champions League under the same coach, they most likely would not refuse.
