Two European giants, Real Madrid and AC Milan, are still unable to reach a common agreement regarding the transfer of Spanish team striker Ronaldo to Italy. The ongoing negotiations have been postponed to Tuesday and it is still unclear whether the clubs will be able to reach a final agreement.
The most prolific player in World Cup history has already passed a medical examination in Milan, but his move to AC Milan is being hindered by Real Madrid, who are not willing to accept the Italian club's offer of 7 million euros and are demanding at least one million more for the player.
The vice president of AC Milan, Adriano Galliani, visited Madrid over the weekend, where he tried to reach an agreement with the Real Madrid officials, but after failing to reach a common ground on Monday evening, he announced that the negotiations are temporarily on hold. However, if AC Milan wants to sign the Brazilian national team striker this season, they need to reach an agreement with Real Madrid by Tuesday night, when the winter transfer window closes.
"So far we have not reached any agreement," Galliani said. "We will resume negotiations on Tuesday and try to find a common solution."
"We offered them 7 million euros, but Real Madrid is demanding at least 8 million for the player, and for now, we do not agree to such a deal."
Reports in the Spanish press also suggest that other players from the clubs, such as Ricardo Oliveira, Antonio Cassano, or Kaka, could be involved in this deal, but the vice president of AC Milan denied these reports.
"At the moment, we are not talking about Oliveira, Cassano, or Kaka. The only player that we are currently discussing is Ronaldo," Galliani said.
"I am neither an optimist nor a pessimist, but Ronaldo wants to move to Milan and we want him, so I believe that sooner or later this deal will happen."
