After long negotiations between Madrid and clubs, they finally reached a common agreement regarding the transfer of Brazilian national team striker Ronaldo to an Italian team. This was confirmed by the official website of the "Milan" club.
As we previously announced, for a long time the two European football giants could not agree on the player's price - "Milan" offered 7 million euros for the player, while "Real" demanded at least one million more.
However, now the clubs have found a common ground and Ronaldo is moving to Milan for, as it is believed, 7.5 million euros - the 30-year-old player has signed a contract with Milan until the summer of 2008. Ronaldo had already undergone a medical examination in Italy, so he should join his new team mates in the near future.
The most prolific scorer in World Cup history moved to Madrid in 2002, when he was acquired from another Milan club, "Inter," for 43 million euros. During his five years at Real, Ronaldo managed to score more than 100 goals, but recently he has faced a lot of criticism for his weight and lost his place in the starting lineup when coach Fabio Capello arrived, expressing his desire to leave the team.
According to the Italian press, this may not be the only deal between these clubs in the final days of January. It is believed that "Real" asked "Milan" to loan them the Brazilian Ricardo Oliveira, who is not in the latter team's plans, and the Italian club agreed, but on the condition that they will find a replacement. The main candidate to join the Milan team is considered to be "Palermo" striker Andrea Caracciolo, as well as his teammate David Di Michele.
