The team playing in the Italian "Serie A" championship announced that they have dismissed Bruno Giordano, who has been leading the team up to now, from the position of head coach and appointed Alberto Cavasina to this post. The "Messina" club, which started well in this year's Italian championship, has recently been unable to find their game and after earning only two points in the last ten matches, they are currently in 18th position in Serie A and now have to fight to stay in the top division of Italian football. The patience of the "Messina" leaders was finally drained by the failure experienced in the last round of Serie A, when the leading team managed to waste their lead and in the last minutes of the match lost to the absolute league underdog "Ascoli" with a score of 2-1. The new team coach Alberto Cavasina has previously worked in Serie A, coaching the teams of "Lecce", "Brescia" and "Treviso".
