The multiple-time champion of the Scottish Premier League, Glasgow club, has announced that they have terminated the contract with goalkeeper Lionel Letizi from France, who has signed a six-month contract with his former team.
The Rangers team announced that they no longer need the services of L.Letizi and mutually agreed to terminate the two-year contract signed with the French goalkeeper.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper left the capital club "Paris Saint Germain" in June 2006 and moved to the prestigious Scottish team, but under the leadership of former coach Paul Le Guen, he only appeared in eight matches.
A month ago, P.Le Guen left Rangers and returned to his homeland, taking over the reins of the "P.S.G" team. Walter Smith, the former Scotland national team coach, returned to the position of head coach of the Rangers club.
However, even with Smith taking over the team, L.Letizi did not find a place in the starting lineup. He was only the third-choice goalkeeper, behind Stefan Klos.
Now, it has been revealed that the "Nice" club allowed goalkeeper Damien Gregorini to move to the "Nancy" team, with whom he signed a three-and-a-half year contract, and brought back long-time goalkeeper L.Letizi.
He started his professional goalkeeper career at this club and won the country's second division championship before moving to the "Metz" team in 1996.
The veteran signed a six-month contract with his childhood club, but it is likely that L.Letizi will continue to be content with the role of a backup goalkeeper and give way to 20-year-old Hugo Lloris in the main team lineup.
