Lithuanian national team and Panevėžys "Ekranas" defender Gediminas Paulauskas continues his search for a new team, and upon returning from a trial at Krasnodar's "Kuban," he left for a trial at the Norwegian team "Fredrikstad."
The official "Ekranas" website announces that G.Paulauskas will train with the nine-time Norwegian champions "Fredrikstad" until the end of the week, and later will travel to France with the national team to play friendly matches against the Malian national team.
Last season in the top Norwegian league, which consists of 14 clubs, Fredrikstad team finished in 8th place.
For the 24-year-old G.Paulauskas, this will be his third attempt to establish himself in a foreign club during the "A League" offseason. The Panevėžys defender took part in a trial at Nalchik's "Spartak" in December.
Meanwhile, "Ekranas" continues preparations for the season, with defenders Arūnas Klimavičius, who is aiming to join Moscow's "Dynamo," and Aurimas Kučys, who participated in a trial at "Kryvbas" in Kryvyi Rih, also missing. Over the weekend, they played a friendly match against Riga's "Olimps," which ended in a 1-1 draw with the goal scored by Vitalijus Kavaliauskas for the Lithuanian vice-champions.
