Argentinian national team and team defender Pablo Aimar strained the ligaments of his left knee and therefore will not be able to help his team for about three weeks.
The 27-year-old player will definitely miss the first leg of the "Zaragoza" team in the King's Cup quarterfinals against the Spanish and UEFA Champions League winners "Barcelona" on Wednesday, as well as will not be able to help his national team, which will play a friendly match against France on February 7.
It is thought that P. Aimar should miss three matches of the Spanish "Primera" league against "Espanyol", "Mallorca" and "Villarreal".
The defender started his professional football career in his hometown of Buenos Aires at the "River Plate" team in 1996, scoring 31 goals in 82 appearances. In 2001, his career took him to Spain, where he spent another five years at the "Valencia" club, scoring 107 goals in 194 appearances while wearing the "bats" jersey.
However, in July of last year, the "Valencia" club sold P. Aimar to the "Zaragoza" team for 11 million euros. This season, the Argentine has already scored three times.
In the country's championship, "Zaragoza" has 32 points after 20 games played and is in 6th position.
