After Wednesday's victory in the semi-finals of the English League Cup against Tottenham with a score of 3-1 and securing a spot in the final, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger once again praised the performance and contribution of his young players.
Talking about the performance of Theo Walcott, Denilson, and Justin Hoyte in the extra-time match, the coach said: "They played excellently. Our young footballers have improved greatly and gained psychological strength. At the moment, we can play and win, and I can choose the right lineup from all the players."
The coach also highlighted the performance of the team's senior players such as Tomas Rosicky, Cesc Fabregas, and Gilberto Silva in the mentioned match and emphasized that in the final against Chelsea, the young players will have another chance to shine.
"Experienced players were very important. They helped maintain psychological balance on the field. Fabregas and Rosicky could hold on to the ball longer, make the right pass. I am thinking about the team lineup for the final match, but my young players deserve a chance, and I will let them take advantage of it," said Wenger.
When asked about the upcoming opponents in the final – Chelsea, Arsenal's coach responded with a touch of humor: "We played against Liverpool, Everton, W.B.A, Tottenham... Why should we suddenly feel inferior just because we are facing a team wearing different colored shirts in front of us?"
Meanwhile, Tottenham manager Martin Jol was disappointed after the defeat in the semi-finals but promised to focus on upcoming battles: "It's always unpleasant to lose to Arsenal, but I think we fought well within our capabilities. Now we need to focus on other competitions – the league, UEFA, and FA Cup."
