In the Scottish League Cup tournament, Edinburgh and will meet. This became clear after the semifinals that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Interestingly, the main favorites of the League Cup tournament were eliminated already in the quarterfinals - "Rangers" lost 0-2 at home to second league "St. Johnstone", "Celtic" also lost in their own field, only after an 11-meter penalty shootout to "Falkirk", and the "Lithuanian" "Hearts" were defeated 1-0 by "Hibernian".

In the match held at the Motherwell stadium, the victory was decided by striker Steven Naismith's hat-trick.

He scored the first goal after receiving a sudden pass from Colin Nish and sending the ball into the net.

After the break, "Falkirk" had a chance to equalize, but a very dangerous long-range shot from Alan Gow was saved by Alan Combe. Soon after the opponents made a mistake in making an artificial offside, S. Naismith scored the second goal, and after seven minutes - the third one, converting a penalty kick.

In the Scottish League Cup final, "Kilmarnock" played four times, but failed to win even once.

Just 2 minutes into extra time, "Hibernian" defender David Murphy scored a great goal from a penalty kick. "St. Johnstone" attempted to save the game by attacking, but in the last minute they conceded the third goal, when Abdessalam Benjelloun deceived the goalkeeper.

"Hibernian" played in the League Cup final a total of 8 times, but celebrated victory only twice.
