Last year's UEFA Cup tournament winner team announced that they managed to sign a contract with talented Argentine youth national team defender Federico Fazio just before the winter transfer window closed.
The 19-year-old right-back moved to Spain from his native country's team "Ferro Carril Oeste" and signed a five-year contract with Sevilla club. The relatively unknown footballer in Europe is highly valued in his homeland and just returned from the South American youth championships in Paraguay with the Argentine national team.
Other details of the deal are not disclosed, but it is believed that initially Fazio will represent Sevilla's youth team until he gets familiar enough with the peculiarities of European football and is ready to represent the main club team.
The player himself is not hiding his joy about this unexpected transfer and eagerly awaits the moment when he can put on the Sevilla jersey and step onto the grass of the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium.
"I am looking forward to getting to know the team's players and start training with them," said the young Argentine. "It will take some time, but I am sure that I will gradually adapt to the new environment."
"Everything happened so quickly. A year and a half ago I was still playing in the second division of Argentine football, and now I am representing my country's national team and have signed a contract with one of the most powerful European clubs of this time."
