In the strongest Western European leagues on the last day of the so-called "transfer window," clubs did not show much activity in spending money and did not make any significant deals. You've already read about the most interesting ones in EuroFootball.com news, and now we offer you a brief overview of the remaining player transfers on January 31 in England, Spain, Italy, Germany, and France.

England

21-year-old Swedish youth national team defender Sebastian Larsson signed a long-term contract with "Birmingham." The player was on loan from London's "Arsenal," and "Birmingham" paid 1.5 million euros to make him a full member of the team.

Spain

"Zaragoza" borrowed Brazilian defender Gustavo Nery from "Corinthians" for 450 thousand euros. The 29-year-old defender, who has represented the Brazilian national team 10 times, has already played in Europe when he was at Bremen's "Werder." "Zaragoza" has the option to sign a long-term contract with him.

Italy

"Palermo" also secured the signing of 29-year-old Uruguayan national team defender Guillermo Giacomazzi from the lower league club "Lecce" in exchange for Gianni Munari. In addition, the Sicilian club made a deal with "Parma" and exchanged defender Francesco Parravicini for Maurizio Ciaramitaro.

Germany

Former Danish national team defender Thomas Helvegas returned to his hometown to play for the "Odense" club. The 35-year-old Helvegas left "Odense" thirteen years ago and moved to Italy, where he played for "Udinese," "Milan," and Inter Milan. He spent the 2004/05 season on loan at English "Norwich" and most recently played for German "Gladbach."

France

The departure of F. Pancrate from "Betis" was replaced by former "Marseille," "Lyon," and "Auxerre" striker Peguy Luyindula. The 27-year-old player decided to part ways with Spanish "Levante" and signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with "P.S.G," coached by Paul Le Guen, who worked with P. Luyindula at "Lyon." Two players were acquired by "Sochaux" - the right-back defender Fousseni Diawara from "Saint-Ettiene" and the striker Sebastien Grax from "Monaco."
