On Thursday, in the artificial turf arena in the capital of Belarus, Minsk, Vilnius' "Žalgiris" played a friendly match against the 2005 Belarusian champions, Soligorsk's "Shakhtyor", which includes former "Žalgiris" player Paulius Paknys. The match ended in a draw.

Last year, Soligorsk's footballers met with the "Kaunas" team in the "Friendship Cup" tournament. The match also ended in a draw, with a score of 1-1. In the match in Minsk, the Žalgiris players scored first, with a goal by a striker. However, with about twenty minutes left to play, "Shakhtyor's" Aleksandr Jackevic, participating in a corner kick, sent the ball into the goal defended by Marius Rapalis, equalizing the score. With no more goals scored by either team, the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
