The long-time team member and former defender of the Italian national team announced that he will end his professional career after this season.
"This will be my last season as a player, because in five months I will hang up my boots," said the footballer, who will turn 41 in April.
A.Costacurta, who has been playing for AC Milan for 20 seasons, had already been thinking about retiring a couple of seasons ago, but he agreed to extend his career at the request of the club's management.

He also participated in the 1994 and 1998 World Cups with the Italian national team. In total, A.Costacurta played 59 matches for the "Squadra Azzurra."
In November of last year, the footballer improved the Champions League record - during a match with AEK Athens, he became the oldest player ever to play in the most prestigious club competitions.
