The Italian club has extended the contract with one of its leaders Gennaro Gattuso for another two years. The previous contract was valid until 2009, so according to the new agreement, the 29-year-old midfielder will stay with the "Red and Black" club until 2011.
G.Gattuso began his professional football career in 1994 at the "Perugia" team, later played for "Rangers", and arrived at "Milan" in 1999 from "Salernitana". With the Milan team, the midfielder triumphed in the Champions League in 2003, playing a total of 218 matches for his team and scoring 5 goals. Last year, G.Gattuso became a world champion with the Italian national team.
Meanwhile, other leaders of "Milan" - goalkeeper Dida and forward Filippo Inzaghi - may miss some time due to injuries. In Wednesday's Italian Cup match against "Roma", Dida injured his shoulder, while F.Inzaghi injured his thigh. Further examinations will be conducted in the near future.
