After a serious knee injury, recovering England national team and striker Michael Owen mentioned that he might not appear on the field this season. The footballer suffered a severe cruciate ligament injury in the previous World Cup.

It was thought that the striker could return to playing in April, but he himself is not eager to rush things.

"I planned to return to the field when the flowers bloom. I feel good and have no other problems. I think I could return to the field this season, but I might do it better in the next one. I should start training next week, although according to the plan I was supposed to start two or three weeks ago, but I do not want to rush," said M.Owen.

The 27-year-old striker also expressed great gratitude to the "Newcastle" team for their care: "They have been fantastic since I got injured. They covered the expenses of the best treatment, sent me to Colorado, where the great doctor Richard Steadman operated on me twice."

"I am depressed because I cannot do what I want. It is a difficult period now, but such is the life of a footballer. I hope I can successfully continue my career," the footballer hoped.

Michael Owen's best career years from 1996 to 2004 passed at "Liverpool". In 2001, the best European footballer played 216 games at Liverpool, scoring 118 goals. Before the 2004-2005 season, the footballer moved to Real Madrid, where, despite scoring 16 goals, he did not establish himself in the team.

In 2005, M.Owen returned to England to "Newcastle" for 23 million euros. In his first season, he managed to score 7 goals, but on the eve of the New Year, he broke his foot. Returning just before the end of the season, M.Owen suffered another severe injury in the World Cup match against Sweden in the first minutes.
