In the Spanish championship, the club occupying the sixth position has started thinking about the next season and agreed on the acquisition of midfielder Gabi from the Madrid team. It is believed that the deal is worth 9 million euros.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder signed a four-year contract with the team led by Victor Fernandez.

The Spaniard is a product of the "Atletico" youth academy. He broke into the main squad of the Spanish capital's team at the beginning of last season and has since played 47 matches wearing the "Atletico" jersey.

Gabi's contract was supposed to run until June 2008, but it is believed that "Zaragoza" took advantage of the buyout clause in the contract, according to which "Atletico" had to accept a 9 million euro offer from another club for the player.

The player will join his new team on July 1st.
