As Vilnius prepares for the upcoming season of the new Baltic and Lithuanian "A League", the team is further shaping up. As reported by EuroFootball.com, the president and coach of the Vilnius club, Arminas Narbekovas, announced that defender Aleksejus Dubyna from Belarus has already left "Žalgiris" after participating in the team's tryouts for almost three weeks.

According to the team manager, in the near future, forward Jan Kožiakas from Slovakia, who recently played for the German club Dresden "Dynamo", should also arrive to join the team.

"The Slovak, whom I have known since his time in Austria during my career, has expressed his desire to represent 'Žalgiris', and my colleagues abroad speak positively of him. Furthermore, the player himself did not show any interest in playing for 'Dynamo' once they dropped to a lower division," Narbekovas said.

The 28-year-old, 183 cm tall Jan Kožiakas joined the Dresden team at the beginning of last year, but only played one match there because he had already played that season for "Banska Bystrica" and "Krems" clubs, and the rules do not allow playing for three clubs in one season. "Dynamo", meanwhile, finished 15th in the German "Bundesliga 2" and dropped to the Regional league.

This season, Kožiakas played 11 matches and scored 1 goal. Before moving to Germany, the forward was interested in playing for the Scottish "Premier" league club "Livingston"

Last Tuesday, J. Kožiakas played one half in a friendly match, where Dresden's players defeated "Ruckrunde" club 5-0.

Narbekovas hopes that they will be able to test this foreign player in this Saturday's friendly matches at Vilnius "Sportima" arena against Grodno's "Neman". Grodno club finished 10th in the Belarusian league last year and has been coached by Liudas Rumbutis since the beginning of this year.
