The defender of the Spanish national team and Sevilla club in the "Primera" league, Juanito, will not be able to play for three weeks due to an injury suffered in the match against "Bilbao."
Tests performed on the 30-year-old player showed that the backbone of the "Betis" team's defense stretched a muscle in his left leg, causing him to be out of the lineup for three weeks.
On Wednesday, Juanito missed the friendly match against England, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Spain, and will now miss the Copa del Rey quarter-final match against "Sevilla" and likely three league games.
"His absence from the team is a big loss for us right now," said "Betis" club head coach Luis Fernandez.
The club currently sits in 14th position in the Spanish league, with only two points separating them from the relegation zone."
