According to the newspaper "Vakarų ekspresas", Klaipėda's "Atlantas" club has signed contracts with two new forwards - Croatian Mateo Šilič and Aivar Thales, while former "Nevėžis" player Mindaugas Daunoravičius is participating in the team's trial.
The 22-year-old legionnaire from Croatia M.Šilič has signed a one-year contract, while the 20-year-old A.Thales, who represented "Šilutė" last season and has also played for the "Vėtra" reserves team, has signed a three-year contract.
Also participating in the port city team's trial is the 22-year-old forward Mindaugas Daunoravičius, who played for Kėdainiai's "Nevėžis" team last year.
On Thursday, he scored a goal in a friendly match in Riga where "Atlantas" played against the local "Riga" club, which was recently reinforced by former Klaipėda forward Martynas Karalius and former "Žalgiris" midfielder Andzejus Maksimovičius. However, M.Daunoravičius's goal was not enough for "Atlantas" as "Riga" won 2-1.
Previously, "Atlantas" was also reinforced by 22-year-old defender from Latvia Bogdanas Nesterenko, who played for "Šilutė" last year. In addition, another former Šilutė player Zigmantas Butkus is also participating in the team's trial.
As reported by "Vakarų ekspresas", on February 26, "Atlantas" will travel to Riga again and will face the Estonian championship bronze medalists "Flora" from Tallinn in the city's sports arena with two squads.
