The club occupying only the 19th place in the French "Ligue 1" championship parted ways with their head coach George Eo.
The 58-year-old G. Eo, who took over as head coach of "Nantes" team in September last year, replaced Serge Le Dizet, but was forced to step down after the weekend's league match.
Under G. Eo's guidance, "Nantes" managed to secure only four victories in 18 matches.
The "Nantes" team should continue to be led by G. Eo's assistants, former player Michel Der Zakarian, 44, and former sports director Japhet N'Doram, 46, who are former players of the "Canaries" team.
"We need team spirit," said club president Rudi Roussillon.
"Nantes" has not dropped into the lower division of French football since 1963 in their quest to stay in "Ligue 1".
