In Turkey, Vilnius based is camping and wants to strengthen their goalkeeper squad, so they invited Moldova's national team goalkeeper Denis Romanenko for a trial.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper has already played in friendly matches against "Kuban", which "Vėtra" lost 2-3. In those matches, Moldovan player replaced Vaidas Žutautas after 60 minutes on the field and conceded a winning goal for the Russian club after nine minutes.

"Romanenko left a good impression during the training sessions," said "Vėtra" coach Aleksandras Tarchanovas. "It is evident that he is an experienced goalkeeper who quickly and accurately evaluates each situation."

"He didn't have much chance to show his skills in the friendly matches against 'Kuban' as he didn't play much and there weren't many attacks towards our goal," added the coach from Russia. "He will continue to participate in 'Vėtra's' training camp. Soon we will decide whether to sign a contract with him."

Until 2004, D. Romanenko represented Moldova's capital team "Zimbru" and became an eight-time national champion. Later, he moved to "Dinamo" playing in the Russian First Division.

In 2006, he was the main goalkeeper for "Dinamo" and played 22 matches, conceding 28 goals.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper represented Moldova's national team 25 times, defending their goal during the World and European Championships qualifiers, but later lost the position of the main goalkeeper. Therefore, during the qualifiers for the 2008 European Championship against Greece, Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Turkey, he watched the games from the substitutes' bench.

Furthermore, D. Romanenko played twice against the Lithuanian national team: in 2000, he defended Moldova's goal in a match against Lithuania, which Moldova won 2-1. And in the middle of last August, when Moldova celebrated another victory over Lithuania with the same score in Kišiniovo, D. Romanenko defended the national team's goal in the first half.
