The leaders of the German Bundesliga, Schalke, lost their forward Peter Lovenkrands for about six weeks. He strained his ankle ligaments during Saturday's German championship match against "Wolfsburg" (2-2). Leading the Bundesliga with five points ahead of their closest pursuers, Schalke announced that the player's rehabilitation will take from four to six weeks.
Last summer, P. Lovenkrands, who arrived in Gelzenkirchen from Glasgow Rangers, scored 6 goals in the German championship. The Dane's injury left Schalke with only two true strikers - Kevin Kuranyi and Halil Altintop, who will move to Bayern in the summer.
