Former Sweden national team player Henrik Larsson will most likely not extend his contract with the English Premier League leaders' club after his loan agreement expires next month and will leave the "Red Devils" team.

The 35-year-old striker joined the "Man Utd" team in January on loan from the "Helsingborg" club. However, next month the Swedish championship will start, and on March 12, H. Larsson, after saying goodbye to "Man Utd," will return to his homeland.

"I'm not saying I'm ungrateful for the opportunity to extend my contract, but there are other things I should consider," said the legendary Swedish player. - "The new Swedish championship will start at the end of March. I am needed by "Helsingborg" and therefore, I have to prepare for the championship."

The former Glasgow "Celtic" and "Barcelona" club striker also revealed that it was uncomfortable for him to leave Sweden.

"Traveling back and forth is definitely not an ideal situation," added H. Larsson. - "But I have to admit that it was a great adventure for me. I arrived in Manchester in January, and I will return home in March and continue playing in Sweden. It's very good."

H. Larsson wore the "Man Utd" jersey in eight matches and during this period managed to score two goals. In his debut match, he scored a goal in the FA Cup match against Birmingham's "Aston Villa," and in the Premier League match against the underdog "Watford," the Swedish legionnaire scored the team's third of four goals.

In 1997, H. Larsson joined Scotland's Glasgow "Celtic" team and scored 242 goals in over 300 matches over seven seasons.

In 2004, the Swede left "Celtic" and moved to Spain's "Barcelona," where he scored 13 goals in 40 matches. The most memorable moment of his career was last year's UEFA Champions League final, where "Barcelona" fell behind against London's "Arsenal" team.

The Swede appeared in the second half as a substitute and made two assists to Samuel Eto'o and Juliano Belletti, who brought "Barca" the coveted trophies.

H. Larsson has represented the Swedish national team 93 times and scored 36 goals. In addition, the player managed to shine in three World Championships (1994, 1998, and 2002) and two European Championships (2000 and 2004).
