FC Barcelona defender Juliano Belletti, leader of the Spanish "Primera" league, will not be able to help his team in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg match against the club, as the Brazilian player suffered an injury during the first leg match on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old defender strained his left calf muscles in the 2-1 defeat at home to Liverpool on Wednesday, but still had to finish the match, enduring the pain, as the head coach Frank Rijkaard had already used all three substitutions.
It is believed that J. Belletti will not be able to play between ten and fifteen days, and for this reason, the Brazilian legionnaire will most likely have to miss the return match in Liverpool's "Anfield" stadium on March 6.
Currently, J. Belletti is the only injured player in the team coached by F. Rijkaard, as French defender Lilian Thuram is recovering from a bruised injury.
