Club attacker Paul Scholes stood up for his teammate Roy Keane regarding his statement that the galaxy of famous names in the club is fighting for their future. Scholes is the player who has been blamed the most for the poor performance of the Red Devils in the Premier League.
The red-haired midfielder, one of the brightest stars in England, has scored 13 goals this season - 7 less than his career record. However, this does not guarantee him a peaceful life when Ferguson's devils are diving into the abyss.
Scholes believes that the axe hanging over their heads will fall this summer unless his team manages to balance the situation.
"Keane is absolutely right," says Scholes. "We are playing for our future. How we are playing now is not enough for a club of this level. We are playing to keep our places in the club and we will prove that we want to stay."
Currently, the situation of the Red Devils is not great. They are in third place in England, and in the last second, they were eliminated from the Champions League by E.Jankausko. Even if Man Utd wins away next weekend, it will be very difficult for them to take the first place in the championship, due to the 12-point deficit they currently have.
