On Sunday, another quarter-final match of the Scottish Cup tournament took place, in which Glasgow Celtic defeated Inverness away after a fierce battle and advanced to the semi-finals of the tournament.
1 – 2
18’ [1 – 0] Graham Bayne
89’ [1 – 1] Steven Pressley
90+1’ [1 – 2] Kenny Miller
Inverness had already eliminated the Celtic team from the Scottish Cup in 2000 and 2003, and started these matches successfully. In the 18th minute, after a pass from Mark Wilson, Graham Bayne directed the ball into the goal from a few meters away.
Later, Celtic took control of the game and pressed the opponents. Inverness responded with dangerous attacks, one of which saw G. Bayne score a second goal, but the referees flagged for offside. Towards the end of the match, Shunsuke Nakamura rattled the host's crossbar.
However, the constant pressure paid off for the champions' team. In the 89th minute, Steven Pressley equalized with a header, and in added time, Kenny Miller snatched victory for Glasgow with a long-range shot.
On Wednesday, Motherwell and St. Johnstone will settle their relationship in the quarterfinals, while on Saturday, Hibernian and Dunfermline have already made it to the semi-finals.
