The French club is expected to have a new owner in the near future. In the next few days, it is likely to be businessman from Canada, Jack Kachkar.

"The contract is almost finalized. Only a few technical details need to be worked out, and it's just a matter of a few days," said representatives of the Canadian.

Jack Kachkar was born in Syria, but almost 40 years ago he emigrated to Canada and took on citizenship of this country. Currently, he is involved in the pharmaceutical business.

It is reported that J. Kachkar will pay approximately 115 million euros to the current owner of "Marseille", Robert Louis-Dreyfus, who won the Champions League in 1993, for the takeover of the club.

The Marseille team, currently occupying only 8th place in Ligue 1, has won the French championship 8 times. One title was revoked from them due to a bribery scandal in 1993.

R. Louis-Dreyfus says that he decided to sell the club due to a three-year disqualification received last June for violations of player purchase and sale rules in 1990. He was also fined 375,000 euros.
