Vilnius continues to strengthen and on Tuesday announced that they have signed a two-year contract with the Lithuanian national team defender Andrius Skerla.
Last season, A. Skerla played for Tomsk's "Tom" team, but the Russian "Premier" league club decided not to renew the contract with the Lithuanian player, so as the Lithuanian football season approaches, the player chose "Vėtra."
The 29-year-old defender has represented the Lithuanian national team 52 times, ranking fourth among all-time national team footballers, and has played the most matches out of all current team players.
Throughout his career, the defender has played for Vilnius' "Žalgiris," Eindhoven's "PSV" (Netherlands), "Dunfermline Athletic" (Scotland), and "Tom." A. Skerla became a Dutch champion in 2000, and in 2004, he participated in the Scottish Cup final with "Dunfermline" and finished 4th in the country's championship.
