Italy's fifth-placed club defender is recovering after surgery, which was necessary due to long-lasting problems with his shoulder tendon, and is preparing to return to team training.
The operation for the Italian was performed in the USA, in sunny Florida. He also underwent rehabilitation there. Now the footballer has returned to Europe, started training, and hopes to return to the field next month.
"Finally, I feel good, my shoulder has fully healed, I hope to return to the field after two or three weeks. All I want now is training," said the defender upon his return from the USA.
"I was operated on by one of the best surgeons in the world, and I did my rehabilitation in Miami because there is a very good and well-known rehabilitation center there. My treatment could have been much longer, but now, I think, I am close to returning to the field. It was a very difficult year for me because I experienced many injuries, but now I will try to return to the highest level as quickly as possible," said the footballer.
A.Nesta also denied rumors about his departure from AC Milan and a return to his hometown club, Lazio.
"I spoke with AC Milan management and they confirmed that I am needed for the team, but I don't want to talk about specific details until I fully recover from the injury," A.Nesta said. "The club knows that I am ready to extend my contract, and I definitely don't want to return to Lazio because Milan is the place where I would like to end my career."
