LFF Cup winner Marijampolė ended the eight-team tournament in the Ukrainian city of Alushta with failure - as reported by the official club website, the Lithuanian team had to admit the superiority of "Mykolaiv" in the battle for third place.
The team "Mykolaiv", competing in the first division of Ukraine, defeated the Marijampolė team with a score of 3-1 and took the third position, while "Sūduva" had to settle for fourth place.
The winners of the tournament were the reserves of Donetsk's "Shakhtar", who crushed the youth team (up to 19 years old) of the same club in the final with a score of 4-1.
Algimantas Gabrys, the head coach of "Sūduva", stated on the team's website that this was one of the stages of preparation for the season, where player selection is taking place, and it is still difficult to judge the team's strength based on the tournament results.
The people of Marijampolė will return to Lithuania on Friday and will continue their season preparations at home, while in the middle of March they will travel to a training camp in Slovakia.
