The Bundesliga club from Germany has extended the contract with the midfielder Piotr Trochowski. The footballer will stay at the Hamburg club until the summer of 2011.
Piotr Trochowski, 22 years old, was born in Poland, but as a child he emigrated to the German city of Hamburg. In 1999, he began his football career at Bayern Munich but did not fit in there, so in 2005 he signed a contract with Hamburg. For this club, the player has already appeared in 54 Bundesliga matches and scored 7 goals.
"I've been in Hamburg since childhood. I'm happy because the past two years in this city club have been great for me," said Piotr Trochowski.
The managing director of Hamburg, Bernd Hoffmann, did not hide his satisfaction with this contract: "We are happy that Piotr decided to stay in our club for a longer period. In the future, he has the potential to become a team leader, so we are pleased to have made this agreement during difficult times for the club."
Hamburg performed poorly in the first half of the season, but after Huub Stevens took over as head coach, they began to climb rapidly in the German championship table and currently occupy the 13th position.
