Today San Sebastiano has dismissed their head coach Raynaldas Denoueix.
In the last season, just missing out on the Spanish champions title - at that time "Real Sociedad" only gave the champions title to Madrid's "Real" in the last round - this year most of the season "Real Sociedad" fought to avoid relegation and finished in 15th place in the final league table.
They managed to stay in the league thanks to a good performance shown at the end of the season - in the last round they even defeated "Real" footballers 4-1 in Madrid.
However, these victories were not enough for Denoueix to keep his job. The main contender to take the vacant coaching position is Jose Maria Amorrortu.
"I can confirm that Raynaldas Denoueix has been dismissed," said a representative of "Real Sociedad" to journalists. "Amorrortu is the main candidate to replace him and we hope to accept him as soon as today."
Amorrortu is the coach of the second Spanish league club "Eibar." For most of the season, this club, whose matches attract about 1500 spectators on average, fought for positions that would allow them to play in the top division next year, but now, with only 3 rounds left until the end of the championship, the club is in 9th place.
Previously, Amorrortu coached the youth team of Bilbao "Athletic" and several times temporarily assumed the position of head coach.
