Manchester United's chief coach Alex Ferguson said in a recent interview: "The operation was performed a few days ago. The timing was chosen wisely – with the upcoming break in international matches."
O. G. Solskjaer, who has scored 10 goals this season, will miss the upcoming Champions League match against French team "Lille", the FA Cup match against "Middlesbrough", and the league match against "Bolton". However, he should be ready for the match against "Blackburn" on March 31st.
Another loss for Manchester United is the midfielder Darren Fletcher, who suffered a groin injury and will miss the important Saturday match against "Liverpool" in the English Premier League.
