A reliable defensive line to boast about in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 matches in London will have to do without team captain John Terry.
The England national team defender suffered a head injury in last weekend's League Cup final match against Arsenal, which Chelsea won.
After Saturday's 2-0 victory in the English championship against Portsmouth, Chelsea's head coach Jose Mourinho was asked about J. Terry's chances of playing against Porto, to which he replied: "No chance."
The first leg match in Portugal ended in a 1-1 draw.
"He is first and foremost a human being, and only then a footballer," the Portuguese coach said. "John Terry is more important than the match result. We will not risk him. Medicine is medicine, so he will rest as much as necessary."
J. Terry lost consciousness in the League Cup final after an accidental clash with Arsenal defender Abou Diaby in a battle for the ball. Additional tests were carried out on Tuesday, and it is expected that he will be able to play in the FA Cup quarterfinal match against Tottenham next weekend.
