Germany's national football team coach Rudi Voller has announced the final list of 23 players who will represent their country in the European Championship in Portugal.
Earlier, the coach had announced a preliminary list of 22 players, but after Paul Freier suffered an injury, Voller had to add two players. As he had promised before, the two players added were members of Germany's youth (up to 21 years old) team: Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern and Lucas Podolski from Koln.
Perhaps the decision that surprised football experts the most was Voller's choice to take Hannover 96 striker Thomas Brdarič to the European Championship, who had only played once for the national team and did not help Germany in the qualifying tournament, while Oliver Neuville was not included in the list.
