Amsterdam club will have to do without the services of the defender Leonardo this season. The Brazilian player suffered a right knee ligament injury in Sunday's Dutch championship match against "Heerenveen," which "Ajax" lost 0-1.
Furthermore, Leonardo will also miss the beginning of the next season, as the recovery from the injury will take between six to nine months.
The defender, who will soon celebrate his 24th birthday, moved to Amsterdam from "NAC" in Breda in January, and scored 3 goals in 11 matches for the Dutch team.
"Ajax" currently holds only the 4th place in the Dutch championship and has already finished competing in the UEFA Cup tournament.
