The head coach Frank Rijkaard hopes that the favorites tag will not weigh down the players in the Champions League round of 16 second leg match at "Anfield" stadium on Tuesday.
Defending champion Barcelona team lost 2-1 two weeks ago to an English team at their own stadium and now they face a difficult task to reach the quarterfinals.
“Everyone, including their fans, thinks that the team is already in the next stage - so they will be more tense than us,” Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard speculated in an interview with the newspaper "Sport."
“Playing at our stadium we made mistakes, I think we need to shake off the tension from our shoulders if we want to play well. We have the ability and talent to surprise,” said the Dutchman.
“Liverpool team plays a similar style of football to Sevilla and their mentality is similar, so I think a loss can help us,” shared the coach his opinion about the opponent's team.
Spanish club's midfielder Andres Iniesta is optimistic about the team's chances of making it among the top 8 clubs in the continent.
“We all believe that we can overcome this stage. The only thing we think about is that we have to score two goals. We think optimistically,” quoted the midfielder in the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo."
