The extended list of the Lithuanian national team for the 2008 European Championship qualification matches with France, which will take place in Kaunas on March 24, was announced.
One of the only surprises on the list is that Ramenskoye "Saturn" club goalkeeper Edgaras Česnauskis, who has not played due to disqualification and disagreements with head coach Algimantas Liubinskas, has been included, even though he was also included in a similar preliminary squad in 2006 but did not appear in the team.
Also missing from the extended list are Edgar's brother Deividas Česnauskis and Nerijus Barasas - both players representing Edinburgh "Hearts" club will miss not only the match against France due to injuries, but most likely also will not play until the end of the season in Scotland.
Meanwhile, striker Robertas Poškus, who missed the match against Mali and is still under contract with St. Petersburg "Zenit" and unsuccessfully looking for a new club in winter, has been added back to the team along with goalkeeper Andrius Gedgaudas, who has moved to Azerbaijan to play.
On Thursday, after the LFF announced an updated list, defenders Vidas Alunderis from Lublin "Zaglebie", goalkeeper Igoris Morinas from Vilnius "Žalgiris" and striker Andrius Velička from Edinburgh "Hearts" were also included in the squad.
