In the Vilnius team "Vėtra" - as reported by the club's website, the 27-year-old goalkeeper who performed successfully in the trial signed a two-year contract.
Former team captain G. Butrimavičius has been playing for "Vėtra" since 2002 and helped the team return to the "A League", reach two LFF Cup finals, and participate in UEFA Intertoto Cup matches, but after the 2005 season he went to the United States to study.
After years spent in the USA, the footballer decided to return to Lithuania and participated in the "Vėtra" preseason camp in Turkey, and on Tuesday already played in the first match of the season in the Baltic League against Tallinn's "Flora".
"I am very happy to be back at "Vėtra". The year without football was very difficult for me, so now I go out on the field with double energy and work hard in training to regain what was lost. A lot has changed at "Vėtra" during those years, everything had to be proven again. The most important thing is that the coaches trust me, I get to play a lot. I hope to fully recover soon and demonstrate the football expected of me," said G. Butrimavičius.
In "Vėtra", G. Butrimavičius will play with the number 23.
"My old number 8 was already taken. Now I am a newcomer again, so I have no claims about that. It's not the number that plays," the player joked.
