On Saturday, the 2007 season of the Russian "Premier" League started with three matches, where the more experienced championship clubs "Moskva", "Krylja Sovetov" and "Tom" began with victories against a newcomer and two second-year clubs.
In the early round matches in Vladivostok, last season's surprise "Luch-Energia", who finished seventh, met "Moskva", who remained sixth. There were no surprises, and despite the long journey to the East, the guests won with a score of 1-0 after the only goal of the Argentine Hector Bracamonte in the 34th minute.
In Tomsk, the local team "Tom", which was left by Lithuanian national team defender Andrius Skerla during the offseason, played against another successful debutant club from last year, Nalchik's "Spartak". Valeri Klimov gave the hosts the lead in the 28th minute, and Aleksandr Mladenov secured the victory for the "Tom" team in the middle of the second half.
In Samara, "Krylja Sovetov" hosted the league newcomer "Khimki". The only goal of the match was scored by "Krylja Sovetov" player Igor Shevchenko. Lithuanian defender Mantas Samusiovas remained on the bench for "Khimki".
