The club of Eindhoven suffers serious losses. Defender Alex may not return to the field this season due to an Achilles tendon injury.
The footballer was injured in the Eredivisie match against "Excelsior" last Sunday, which ended goalless.
PSV coach Ronald Koeman doubts whether the 24-year-old Brazilian defender will be able to play this season: "We should wait for more detailed tests, but we almost have no doubt that Alex has torn his Achilles tendon. In that case, we would be happy if he returned to the field this season."
Alex recently became a hero of the Eindhoven team when he scored a goal against "Arsenal" in the Champions League round of 16 second-leg match in London, securing PSV's ticket to the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, there are also other bad news within the ranks of the Dutch champions. Striker Arouna Kone is likely to miss the first leg of the quarter-finals on April 3 against "Liverpool" due to a knee injury.
