Rotterdam experienced very serious losses. Defender Serginho Greene suffered a serious knee injury this year, 2007, and will no longer be able to play football.
In Sunday's Dutch championship match against "AZ" (0-0), the cruciate ligaments in Greene's knee were torn. Tests on Monday showed that Greene will only be able to return to the field after the next winter break.
"I have never been seriously injured before, so I am shocked," said the 24-year-old Dutchman.
This season, Greene was a key defender for "Feyenoord" - he played 22 matches in the Dutch league and 6 in the UEFA Cup.
In the same match against "AZ", Rotterdam's striker Angelos Charisteas also strained his hamstring. However, the Greek player will be able to return to play in a few days.
