The club currently holding the third place in the German Bundesliga lost their attacking leader Mario Gomez for six weeks. The 21-year-old striker suffered ligament damage during the weekend match against "Wolfsburg", which ended in a 0-0 draw.
The footballer got injured at the end of the first half when he tried to score a goal and collided with the opponent's defender Jonathan Santana. Tests showed that the recovery from the injury will take about six weeks, until the end of April.
"This is a devastating news," - briefly described the loss by the coach of "Stuttgart" Arminas Vehas.
Mario Gomez, who unexpectedly shone this season, has already scored 13 goals and leads the list of Bundesliga top scorers. The footballer has also successfully joined the German national team, but he will not be able to help in the European Championship qualifying matches at the end of March against the Czech Republic.
