The discussions about supporting the LGBTQ community continue at the World Cup.
Before the tournament, FIFA banned European teams from wearing special captain armbands with LGBTQ symbolism, and captains who disregard this rule would receive a yellow card before the match.
This FIFA decision significantly angered the Germans, who posed with covered mouths in a team photo before their first match against Japan, symbolizing restricted freedom of speech.

However, it seems that not everyone was charmed by this German gesture. Belgium captain Eden Hazard stated after the match against Canada that the Germans should focus more on football.
“The Germans sent a message, but ultimately lost the game. I think it would be more beneficial for them to not focus on external issues and win games.
We are here to play football, not to send political messages. There are certainly people who understand all of this better than us.
We are prohibited from wearing special captain armbands, otherwise we would start the match with yellow cards.
If FIFA reverses this decision, I would definitely consider the possibility of playing with a captain armband supporting the LGBTQ community”, E. Hazard said after the match.
