The United States (US) national team defeated Iran in the final group B match on Tuesday and advanced to the World Cup quarterfinals.
The only goal of the match was scored by Christian Pulisic at the end of the first half, although the player also suffered an injury during the goal moment.
Although the "Chelsea" representative tried to continue the match, he was eventually substituted during halftime.
Nevertheless, Pulisic managed to avoid more serious injuries. The US Soccer Federation announced that the player was diagnosed with a severe hip contusion.
However, it is still unclear whether the player will be fully ready for Saturday's match against the Netherlands.
